Party of Regions member Kosiuha wins mayoral election in Alchevsk
Party of Regions representative Volodymyr Kosiuha has been elected mayor of Alchevsk (Luhansk region), the Committee of Voters of Ukraine (CVU) has told Interfax-Ukraine.
A representative of the Luhansk regional branch of the CVU, Oleksiy Svetikov, said that according to the protocol of the Alchevsk city territorial election commission, 9,764 people (50.95%) voted for Kosiuha.
A representative of the Ukrainian Communist Party, Oleksandr Bebeshko, took second place, with 3,097 votes (16.3%). He is followed by a representative of the Progressive Socialist Party of Ukraine, Mykola Boiko (1,494 votes, or 7.78%), UDAR Party member Vitaliy Serpokrylov (1,326 votes, or 6.9%), and Civil Position Party representative Valeriy Filatov (1,153 votes, or 6%).
A total of 1,558 local residents (8.11%) voted against all candidates. A total of 19,072 voters participated in the election, and the turnout was 22.32%.
