The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine is planning to expand the list of pharmacies that will sell medicines at reference prices, Prime Minister Mykola Azarov has said.

While opening a government meeting on Wednesday, he said that there was a positive experience of introducing reference prices for medicines for hypertension, but the development of the project is being hindered due to the fact that the list of pharmacies that use these prices is determined by the local authorities, so there are too few of them.

"It's time to extend the project to all pharmacies and start the next stage of the introduction of reference prices for other groups of medicines," Azarov said.

In this regard, the prime minister instructed the Health Ministry to draw up a proposal by March 21 regarding the development of the program of reference prices.
