New government to be formed no sooner than December 13-14, says Azarov's Web site

The new Ukrainian government will be formed no sooner than December 13-14, reads a posting on the Web site of Acting Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov.

"It is expected that the new parliament of Ukraine will hold its first sitting on December 12, while the new government will be formed no sooner than December 13-14. The issue on the appointment of the premier will be considered next week," reads the statement.

Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych submitted Mykola Azarov's candidacy for premiership, which is to be considered by the Verkhovna Rada, Ukraine's parliament, the presidential press service reported on Sunday, December 9.

As was reported, the then premier Mykola Azarov on December 3, 2012, submitted to a president an application for resignation in connection with the election as a people's deputy. Yanukovych accepted the resignation of the prime minister and the entire Cabinet of Ministers. Corresponding decree No. 673/2012 was signed on December 3, 2012, according to a posting on the president's official Web site. The decree became effective since the day of publication.

In the same decree, the president ordered the Cabinet of Ministers to carry out its duties until the new government is formed and begins work.
