Ukraine has handed over to Russia a criminal case against Ilya Pyanzin, a native of Kazakhstan, who is charged with plotting to assassinate Russian President Vladimir Putin.

"I. Pyanzin's case files have arrived from Ukraine today. Pyanzin's extradition to Russia in August 2012 became possible thanks to talks between top officials of the Prosecutor General's Offices in Russia and Ukraine," the official spokesman for the Russian Prosecutor General's Office Marina Gridneva told Interfax on Thursday.
