The privatization of the last six controlling stakes in regional energy supply companies remaining in state ownership will begin in January 2017 following the entry into force of the law on the National Commission on Energy, Housing and Utilities Services Regulation (NCER) and adopting the position on RAB regulation, Head of the State Property Fund of Ukraine (SPF) Ihor Bilous considers.

"I think we are ready in January to consider the beginning of privatization of the regional power companies," he said.

According to him, preparation for privatization of five power companies has been completed, and in case of Cherkasyoblenergo it remains to approve the decision on combining two packages being in state ownership in the amount of 46% and 25% into one.

Bilous noted foreign investors are very interested in these tenders.

"We expect quite good revenues - hundreds of millions of dollars. This will be budget forming privatization," he said.
