Coal stocks at Ukraine's TPPs 5.3% up over week

Coal stocks in the warehouses of thermal power plants (TPP) of Ukraine from October 30 until November 6, 2016 increased by 5.3%, from 1.625 million tonnes to 1.711 million tonnes, Ukrenergo has reported.

In particular, anthracite coal stocks rose by 4.2%, to 763,000 tonnes (including 108,000 tonnes at Luhansk TPP), while gas coal and long-flame coal stocks grew by 6.2%, to 948,000 tonnes (including 140,000 tonnes at Burshtyn TPP).

Ukrenergo said energy consumption in the morning of November 7 was 19.759 GW, while 28 coal power units and four turbine generators at the TPPs generated 5.357 GW. Nuclear power plants (NPPs) showed a capacity of 10.700 GW, hydroelectric power plants 1.544 GW, combined heat and power plants 1.794 MW and alternative energy units 364 MW.

Exports from the Burshtyn TPP energy island on November 6 stood at 384 MW. No exports to Poland, Belarus, Moldova and Russia were reported.
