Coal stocks at Ukraine's TPPs 8.1% up over week

Coal stocks in the warehouses of thermal power plants (TPP) of Ukraine from October 9 until October 16, 2016 increased by 8.1%, from 1.414 million tonnes to 1.528 million tonnes, Ukrenergo has reported.

In particular, anthracite coal stocks rose by 8.7%, to 685,000 tonnes (including 90,000 tonnes at Luhansk TPP), while gas coal and long-flame coal stocks grew by 7.5%, to 843,000 tonnes (including 138,000 tonnes at Burshtyn TPP).

Ukrenergo said energy consumption in the morning of October 17 was 20.325 GW, while 36 coal power units and two turbine generators at the TPPs generated 7.004 GW. Nuclear power plants (NPPs) showed a capacity of 10.099 GW, hydroelectric power plants 1.500 GW, combined heat and power plants 1.508 MW and alternative energy units 214 MW.

Exports from the Burshtyn TPP energy island on October 9 stood at 249 MW and 134 MW to Poland. No exports to Belarus, Moldova and Russia were reported.
