UIA expands fleet with new medium-haul Boeing
Ukraine International Airlines (UIA, Kyiv) on July 20, 2016 replenished its fleet with a new Boeing 737-800 NG aircraft, produced at the Boeing plant in Seattle (the United States).
"The new Boeing 737-800 NG with 186 passenger seats has passed official registration in Ukraine, received the UR-PSR registration number. As a result, the number of Boeing planes in the company fleet grew to 18, while the total number of UIA aircraft increased to 37," a report says.
According to UIA Corporate Press Secretary Yevhenia Satska, the insured value of the aircraft is $50 million.
The UR-PSR aircraft is the sixth of nine Boeing 737-800 NGs to be delivered within the program of expansion of the UIA fleet in the current year.
The company notes the delivery of the airplane was scheduled for early July. However, due to certain actions in relation to UIA, including searches at the airline offices by inspectors of one of the state authorities, international investors conducted a number of additional checks.
