No threat to work of PrivatBank - Poroshenko

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has stated there are no threats to the work of PrivatBank (Dnipropetrovsk).

"There are no threats to the functioning of PrivatBank, the bank has adequate liquidity," the president said at a press conference in Kyiv.

The president said he had discussed the bank's implementing the regulations of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) with PrivatBank's largest shareholder Ihor Kolomoisky because the issues of stability of the banking system and the state of affairs at PrivatBank are, inter alia, the subject of negotiations with the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

As reported, the profit of Ukraine's largest bank PrivatBank in January-March 2016 amounted to UAH 211 million, whereas in the corresponding period of 2015 its profit amounted to UAH 6 million.
