It is planned to open 21 hub schools in Donetsk region this year, President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko said.

"We have agreed with Pavlo Zhebrivskiy [the head of Donetsk regional military and civil administration] that 21 hub schools will be built this year," the president said, opening a new school in Sviatohirsk (Donetsk region) on Saturday.

He noted that the issue of schools functioning was important for turning back the state sovereignty of Ukraine to the occupied territories. "To restore infrastructure, rebuild destroyed houses, bridges, energy and water supplies, ensure the safety by the Armed Forces of Ukraine, to ensure peace, tranquility and order by means of a new patrol police, to give start to the economy and businesses," said the head of the state.

Poroshenko noted that he placed both the government and local authorities before these challenges. "There is no doubt that this will be done. Why do I make no doubt about it? As Ukraine is supported by the whole world, and these are also the results of our mutual work," Poroshenko said.
