Talks with lenders on loans for pumping gas suspended until supervisory board formed – Naftogaz head

Negotiations between the national joint-stock company Naftogaz Ukrainy and European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and commercial banks on the provision of loans to purchase and pump natural gas have been suspended until the supervisory board of Naftogaz Ukrainy is formed and the Ukrainian government approves the tariffs for households and Ukrgazvydobuvannia, Naftogaz Head Andriy Kobolev told reporters in Kyiv on Wednesday.
"Unfortunately, there has been no progress due to general both political and corporate uncertainties.. Two key issues remain: the supervisory board and approval of any decision on tariffs," he said.
He said that the EBRD and Goldman Sachs temporarily withdrew from negotiations until these issues are settled.
Kobolev also said that there is no progress in organizing negotiations with Russia's Gazprom to discuss the price of gas and gas transit tariffs.
He said that Naftogaz does not find it necessary to settling arrears with Gazprombank ahead of schedule.
