Competition agency opens case against PrivatBank

The Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine has opened a case against public joint-stock company commercial bank PrivatBank, the committee's press service has reported.

The committee said that it asked PrivatBank to provide information as part of two 'oil' investigations, but the bank refused to do this.

"The committee sent claims to PrivatBank to provide information, including banking secret information. However, PrivatBank refused to provide it. The committee opened the case," the press service said.

Information regarding the investigation launched by the committee under the signs of committing anticompetitive agreed actions by public joint-stock company Ukrtatnafta, Halychyna oil refinery, Galnafta LLC, Prykarpattianaftotrade, Kotlas, Polygonal, Garant-UTN relating to distortion of the results of auctions for the sale of crude oil and gas condensate.

In addition, the committee wanted to receive information regarding the investigation into the same signs against Ukrgeoekolohia LLC and Ukrgazgeoavtomatika LLC.

As reported, referring to MP Viktoria Voitsytska, Garant-UTN, Techtrade Group, Prykarpattianaftotrade and Kotlas owe over UAH 9 billion to public joint-stock company Ukrnafta.
