Coal stocks at Ukraine's thermal power plants 0.6% up over week – Ukrenergo

Coal stocks in the warehouses of thermal power plants (TPP) in Ukraine in the period from January 11 to January 18 expanded by 0.6%, or by 13,900 tonnes, from 2.265 million tonnes to 2.279 million tonnes, national energy company Ukrenergo reported on its website.
In particular, the stocks of anthracite coal amounted to 926,700 tonnes (of which 130,800 tonnes at Luhansk TPP), those of gas coal and long-flame coal expanded to 1.353 million tonnes (of which 308,400 tonnes at Burshtyn TPP).
Ukrenergo said that energy consumption in the morning of January 18 was 21.937 GW, while 41 coal power units and one fuel oil power unit at the thermal power plants generated 6.559 GW, the nuclear power plants (NPPs) had a capacity of 11.324 GW, hydroelectric power plants 1.445 GW, combined heat and power plants 2.432 GW, and alternative energy units 177 MW.
No energy supply was between mainland Ukraine and Crimea.
Ukrenergo operates mainland and inter-state power transmission lines and has centralized control over the national power grid. The company is state-owned and controlled by the Energy and Coal Industry Ministry.
