NBU to declare troubled seven more banks if banks fail to disclose ownership structure before year-end

The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) could declare troubled seven more banks if they do not disclose information on the structure of ownership by the end of this year, NBU Governor Valeriya Gontareva said at a press conference in Kyiv on Tuesday.
"Large work with real owners of banks has been done. The transparency level of the banking system is over 98%, we do not know owners of seven small banks. I want to say: banks that would not provide information on their owners by the end of this year will be declared troubled," Gontareva said.
As reported, on October 8, 2015, the NBU announced a list of 48 banks with non-transparent ownership structures.
