President says he can’t sell seized business in Russia

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has said that he cannot sell his property in Russia as it has been seized.
"Part of my business in Russia was confiscated by [Russian President Vladimir Putin] Putin, it is impossible to sell a seized business," he said in an interview with Deutsche Welle on Wednesday.
Poroshenko said that he had handed his assets over to an independent trust fund to separate his business from politics.
When asked about Channel Five TV, which he owns, Poroshenko stressed that he had never promised to sell the channel.
"If you watch Channel Five, then it is probably one of those [channels] that criticizes me the most, it’s the most free [from political influence]," he said, adding that the channel adheres to credible standards of journalism.
