Gazprom could take part in tender to supply gas using EBRD credit – Naftogaz head

Russia's Gazprom could in theory take part in a tender to supply gas bought using a credit from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), Naftogaz Ukrainy Board Chairman Andriy Kobolev has said.
"The tender is built so that gas that would be bought for EBRD's money can be bought only on the western border of Ukraine. This does not rule out the possibility that Gazprom could want to sell us gas on the western border of Ukraine as part of this tender. I don't know if they do this or not. They could come to the tender and try to participate in it," he said at the second Conductors of Change forum for directors in Kyiv on Thursday.
He said that the tender would be finished in the coming two or three weeks.
He said that as of early October 2015, the price of Russian gas was the cheapest - $227.36 per 1,000 cubic meters.
Kobolev added that European suppliers also revised their prices downwards, and the recent purchases of European gas were cheaper than the Gazprom gas.
He did not disclose the price of the European gas.
