Coal stocks at Ukraine's power plants grow by 3.1% in one week – Ukrenergo

Coal stocks held in the warehouses of Ukrainian thermal power plants (TPPs) from October 12 to October 19, 2015 increased by 3.1% or by 62,700 tonnes, to 2.118 million tonnes, according to a national joint-stock company Ukrenergo report.
Anthracite stocks during the period totaled 1.047 million tonnes (407,700 tonnes at Luhansk TTP) and gas and short-flame coal – 1.071 million tonnes (including 237,500 tonnes at Burshtyn TPP).
Ukrenergo said that in the morning on October 19, 34 coal power units at the thermal power plants of generating companies with a capacity of 6.477 GW were operating. Ukrainian nuclear power plants (NPPs) had the capacity of 10.785 GW, hydroelectric power plants – 662 MW, combined heat and power plants – 1.543 GW and alternative energy units – 86 MW.
Ukrenergo operates Ukraine's backbone and interstate power grid and supervises the country's national grid. It is a state-owned company and is controlled by the Ukrainian Energy and Coal Industry Ministry.
