Coal supplies from South Africa expected in late Nov - Ukrenergo

Coal deliveries from South Africa to the thermal power plants (TPP) of power generating companies are now expected to arrive in November, Ukrenergo Chief Manager Vitaliy Zaichenko has said.
"Unfortunately, there is still no coal from South Africa... Deliveries are planned for the end of November," he said during the roundtable talk "100 days before the winter. The results of preparations: will it be warm or cold?" in Kyiv.
He added that the TPPs' warehouses have 2.075 million tonnes of coal (including 1.008 million tonnes of A grade coal and 1.066 million tonnes of G grade coal), the largest stocks of A grade coal are heldat Luhansk TPP (423,000 tonnes).
"Regarding the schedule of coal accumulation by November 1, approved by the minister, there will be a shortage of about 300,000 tonnes," he concluded.
As reported, PJSC Centrenergo ordered 160,000 tonnes of coal from South Africa from Swiss trader Mercuria.
