UIA receives EASA certificate to fly to EU

Ukraine International Airlines (UIA, Kyiv) has received a certificate from the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) to operate flights to European Union countries.
The press service of the airline reported that Commission Regulation (EU) 452/2014 which set technical requirements and administrative procedures related to air operations of third country operators (TCO) flying to European airports has entered into force.
The TCO Certificate allows UIA to operate flights to, from and within the 28 European Union states and the four European Free Trade Association states – Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, and Switzerland.
"To receive the TCO Certificate, UIA had to submit an application and provide information on operations specifications, aviation safety management, fleet data, other safety information, including accident history, etc. by November 25, 2014," UIA Vice President for Quality and Safety Control Heorhiy Zotov said.
UIA was founded in 1992. It is the largest Ukrainian airline. Its base airport is Boryspil (Kyiv). The UIA fleet consists of 31 aircraft, including 27 medium-haul and four long-haul airplanes.
