Agriculture Ministry forecasts grain exports will reach over 36.8 mln tonnes in 2015/2016 MY

Ukraine's Ministry of Agricultural Policy and Food has estimated that grain exports in the 2015/2016 marketing year (MY, July-June) will reach 36.8 million tonnes, Minister Oleksiy Pavlenko wrote on his Twitter microblog.
Earlier, the ministry estimated grain exports in the 2015/2016 MY at 36 million tonnes.
According to the minister, the increase in exports is due to a drop in grain consumption by Donetsk and Luhansk regions, as well as large ending stocks.
As reported, grain exports from Ukraine since the beginning of the 2015/2016 MY and as of July 31 amounted to 2.495 million tonnes.
Grain exports from Ukraine in the 2014/2015 MY, according to preliminary data, amounted to 34.805 million tonnes, in particular corn amounted to 18.837 million tonnes. Some 11.234 million tonnes of wheat, 4.46 million tonnes of barley and 280,000 tonnes of other grains were exported.
In the 2013/2014 MY grain exports amounted to 32.4 million tonnes.
