State Fiscal Service explains customs clearance procedure for medical products

The State Fiscal Service of Ukraine has explained the customs clearance procedure for medical products.
According to a letter of the Income and Tax Ministry issued on June 27, a copy of which has been sent to Interfax-Ukraine, from July 1 customs clearance for imports of goods to which technical regulations for medical products or technical regulations of implant medical products apply is to be carried out on the basis of a declaration on compliance of products with technical regulations, an application on the special purchase of medical products (for medical products which production was ordered and for medical products for clinical trials) or a registration certificate and the availability of the products in the state register of medical equipment and medical products.
On the basis of the registration certification, customs clearance will be carried out until July 1, 2016 for medical products which state registration certificate is unlimited or expires after July 1, 2016, and for medical products which certificates expire before July 1, 2016 – until the date when the certificate expires.
Market players said that the explanation confirms the transition period for the introduction of the European medical product regulation system.
However, some issues for the switch to the new system have not yet been regulated, they said.
