Gazprom places application for 225 mcm of gas for transit via Ukraine to Europe, up 5%

PJSC Ukrtransgaz on July 1, 2015 received an application from Russia's OAO Gazprom for natural gas shipments via Ukraine's gas transport system to European consumers in the amount of 225 million cubic meters (mcm), head of Ukrtransgaz's public relations office Maksym Biliavsky told Interfax.
"As was the case before, the operator of the Ukrainian gas transport system will satisfy applications on behalf of European consumers on time and in full," he said,
According to him, gas transit in keeping with the July 1, 2015 application is 5% higher than was contracted in the July 1, 2014, application.
According to the operating date of Ukrtransgaz, gas transit through the gas transportation system of Ukraine on June 20-29 was 1.887 billion cubic meters (bcm) or on average 188.7 mcm of gas a day.
As reported, gas transit supplies via Ukraine to Europe and Moldova declined by 23.5% year-on-year in January-May 2015 to 23.364 bcm.
The transportation of gas through the territory of Ukraine in 2014 fell by 27.8% in comparison with 2013 to 62.197 bcm, in Q1 2015 by 31.4% to 12.765 bcm.
Ukrtransgaz, which is wholly owned by Naftogaz Ukrainy, operates Ukraine's trunk gas pipeline system and its underground storage facilities.
