Deposit Guarantee Fund estimates assets of insolvent banks for investment at UAH 46 bln

Assets of insolvent banks, the appraised value of which is UAH 46 billion, is one of the sources of forming the investment market, Deputy Director of the Individuals' Deposit Guarantee Fund Andriy Kyiak has said.
According to a post on the fund's website, he announced this at a roundtable talk held in Kyiv on May 27.
Kyiak said the appraised value is UAH 46 billion, while the balance value of the assets, not taking into account reserves, is UAH 287 billion.
He also said that the fund is working on the possibility of selling property, when one lot will be formed from the assets of various insolvent banks.
He added that sales could be organized on electronic markets to ensure the maximum level of transparency and openness.
The Individuals' Deposit Guarantee Fund is removing 52 banks from the market.
As of January 1, 2015, the fund was settling payments for 20 banks. The fund paid compensation of over UAH 10 billion to 158,719 depositors.
