Ukraine reduces gas imports from Hungary in early April

Ukraine from April 1, 2015 considerably reduced imports of natural gas from Hungary.

According to tentative data from the Hungarian gas transport system operator, if in the second half of March gas imports varied from 5 million cubic meters to 7 million cubic meters, on April 1 it was 1 million cubic meters, April 2 – 1.9 million cubic meters, and April 3-4 – 700,000 cubic meters.

According to Poland's Gaz-System, imports of gas from Poland grew from 700,000-800,000 cubic meters to 1.1 million cubic meters after April 1.

Imports from Slovakia totaled 37.9 million cubic meters a day in April, which is almost the same as in March, the operator of the Slovak gas transport system Eustream has reported.

Public joint-stock company Ukrtransgaz said that on April 1 gas imports from Russia reached 800,000 cubic meters, April 2 – 5.3 million cubic meters, April 3 – 4.6 million cubic meters, and April 4 – 6.5 million cubic meters.

This amount of gas is lower than in March, despite the fact that the price of gas fell from the second quarter of 2015 after Naftogaz Ukrainy and Russia's Gazprom signed a supplementary agreement.

In Q1 2015 Ukraine imported 3.649 billion cubic meters of gas from Europe and 2.157 billion cubic meters of gas from Russia.
