Cabinet to propose reduction of facilities not subject to privatization from 1,500 to 300, says premier
The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has drawn up a draft law on the reduction of a list of facilities in state ownership which are not subject to privatization from 1,500 items to 300, Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk said at a cabinet meeting on Tuesday.
"The law on the list of facilities in state ownership which are not subject to privatization is being sent to the parliament. If today we cannot privatize around 1,500 facilities, which means their stealing by political clans, we propose that 1,200 facilities are removed from the list," he said.
The premier stated that privatization will be conditional on price and the facilities’ appeal to foreign investors.
Yatseniuk said that the facilities left in state ownership will be reorganized into holding companies.
