Ukraine International Airlines (UIA, Kyiv), if gets a state credit in the amount of $100 million, will guarantee keeping the existing volume of activities at the company, UIA President Yuriy Miroshnykov said in an exclusive interview with Interfax-Ukraine.
"The guarantees we can provide to the government consist of two basic elements. The first one is, if the company gets financial assistance in the amount of $100 million, it will guarantee keeping the volume of current activities, which means that $100 million will return back to the economy of Ukraine within one year through payments to the budget, payments for the services of Boryspil airport and UkSATSE," he said.
According to Miroshnykov, in addition UIA will pay large sums to private enterprises, municipal airports, fuel, catering and handling companies.
The company president also stressed the importance of export earnings in the airline's operations, noting that the painful side of the Ukrainian economy is the deficit of the foreign trade balance.
