Ukrzaliznytsia to create two branches as part of railway energy division reformation

The State Railway Administration of Ukraine (Ukrzaliznytsia) during the reformation of the electrification and power supply division plans to create the Energotransdiagnostics center for diagnostics and monitoring of power supply equipment and the Energoremtrans construction branch.
According to a press release of Ukrzaliznytsia issued on Thursday, thanks to the changes, railway energy workers will be able to more strictly control power consumption, consume fewer resources, conduct the better diagnostics and replace equipment and make the power supply engineering support system on the railway transport effective.
The head of the chief department of electrification and power supply of Ukrzaliznytsia Vitaliy Maksymchuk said that the electrification and power supply department is being created. New branches will be subordinated to the new department.
"It is planned that Energotransdiagnostics will start operating in several months after the creation of joint-stock company Ukrainska Zaliznytsia. The division will provide for one of the most important tasks of railway energy workers – the timely diagnostics of the aerial contact wire using metering laboratories," Maksymchuk said.
He said that the Energoremtrans construction branch will start working no earlier than in a year after the creation of the joint-stock company. The division will unite four track electromechanical shops and two construction and assembly trains and will be responsible for construction, technical re-equipment, reconstruction and overhaul of electrification and power supply facilities.
He added that the power supply divisions will remain the basic enterprises. They will operate in the usual regime, but first of all, they will carry out scheduled and preventive repair.
At present, Ukrzaliznytsia's energy division includes 43 power supply divisions, two construction and assembly trains and track electromechanical shops Krasny Luman, Sambor, Chaplyne and Kirovohrad. Each railways has a power supply division and a dispatcher's center. The dispatcher's body of the profile services subordinated to the central body at Ukrzaliznytsia has been created for the past two years as a part of the preparations for the reform.
As reported, public joint-stock company Ukrainska Zaliznytsia, 100% of the shares of which will be in state ownership without the right to sell them, will be created on the basis of the Ukrainian Railway Administration (Ukrzaliznytsia), and over 50 railway enterprises are being reorganized via mergers.
