Ukraine by November 1 exports nearly 9.7 m tonnes of grain

Grain exports from Ukraine since the beginning of the current marketing year (MY, July 2013 - June 2014) and as of November 1 totaled nearly 9.7 million tonnes, which is 12.35% up on the same date last MY.

According to the Ministry of Agricultural Policy and Food, wheat exports were 5.4 million tonnes, barley - 1.85 million tonnes, and corn - 2.37 million tonnes.

In October, Ukraine exported 3.42 million tonnes of grain, including 1.76 million tonnes of wheat, 148,000 tonnes of barley, and 1.5 million tonnes of maize.

According to the forecasts of the ministry, the grain harvest in Ukraine in 2013 will reach 60 million tonnes, up from 46.2 million tonnes last year. The ministry estimates grain exports in the current year will be 30 million tonnes.
