Ukraine's state transport enterprises see 20% fall in net profit in 2012
Ukraine's transport companies, part of the Infrastructure Ministry of Ukraine, in 2012 saw net profit fall by 20% compared to 2011, to UAH 3.266 billion, Deputy Minister of Infrastructure Dmytro Demydovych said at a briefing in Kyiv on Tuesday.
"In 2012, capital investment amounted to UAH 24.5 billion, payments to the budget were UAH 21.3 billion," he said.
In addition, he said that the net profit of state seaports [there are 18 seaports in Ukraine] came to UAH 1.4 billion, which is 0.4% down on 2011.
As reported, Ukrainian transport enterprises in 2012 reduced cargo transportation by 4.9% compared to 2011, to 772.8 million tonnes, and passenger transportation was down by 2.4% compared to 2011, to 6.8 billion people.
