Donbas mine management sees UAH 140 m net loss under IFRS in Jan-Sep 2012

The net loss of PJSC Donbas mine management (Donetsk), under international financial reporting standards (IFRS), in January-September 2012 amounted to UAH 140.15 million.

According to a company report in the information disclosure system of the National Commission on Securities and the Stock Market, its net income for the first nine months of the year amounted to UAH 668.375 million, and its gross loss UAH 175.62 million.

The company did not give comparative data under IFRS for the same period in 2011, as previously it reported only according to Ukrainian standards.

In January-September 2011, Donbas mine directorate, under Ukrainian accounting standards, saw a net loss of UAH 192.888 million, a net income of UAH 627.572 million, and a gross loss of UAH 163.631 million.

As reported, in 2011 the mine management saw its net loss rise by 6.8 times compared to 2010, to UAH 254.996 million, its net income rise by 26.6%, to UAH 848.356 million, and its coal production increase by 12.4%, to 1.539 million tonnes.

The main clients of the company within the country in 2011 were Vuhillia Ukrainy, GSK Horizon and CJSC Donetskstal-MZ.

In January-September 2012, the mine management increased coal production by 9.9% compared to the same period in 2011, to 1.245 million tonnes. The output of coking coal (K grade) was 452,800 tonnes, and that of energy coal (T grade) was to 791,900 tonnes.

The Energy and Coal Industry Ministry owns a 100% stake in the company.

Donbas mine management includes Schehlovska-Hlyboka mine and Komunarska mine. According to decree No. 987 of the Cabinet of Ministers of September 19, 2012 the company is included on the list of state property that is subject to privatization in 2012-2014.
