Ukraine since start of 2012/13 MY exports over 8 m tonnes of grain, says ministry
Grain exports from Ukraine since the start of the marketing year (MY, July 2012–June 2013) came to 8.1 million tonnes as of October 26, according to data from the Agricultural Policy and Food Ministry of Ukraine.
The report says that over the period, wheat exports amounted to 3.99 million tonnes, including 3.31 million tonnes of food wheat, corn exports stood at 2.45 million tonnes, and barley exports were 1.51 million tonnes.
According to the ministry, as of that date, Ukraine had contracts for 12.13 million tonnes of grain, including 5.53 million tonnes of wheat (4.73 million tonnes of food wheat), 1.99 million tonnes of barley and 4.36 million tonnes of corn.
As of October 26, some 1.05 million tonnes of grain (including 518,000 tonnes of wheat) had been at port's elevators, 221,000 tonnes of grain (including 83,000 tonnes of wheat) had been loaded on ships.
Thus, the volume of grains exported and prepared for exports amounts to 9.32 million tonnes, including 4.59 million tonnes of wheat.
According to the ministry, wheat exports in September 2012 were 1.3 million tonnes, over 25 days of October - nearly 1.4 million tonnes, and over last week – 420,000 tonnes.
